How to get to Tigh-a-Chreagan

From Inverness take the A9 across the Kessock bridge and follow the signs for Ullapool. After Tore follow the A835 until Garve, just after Garve take a left turn onto the A832 signposted for Achnasheen.

At Achnasheen take a left at the roundabout onto the A890 signposted Lochcarron and follow the signs for Lochcarron.

Drive through Lochcarron and follow the road, pass through Kishorn and 2 miles further on you will come to a left turn sign-posted for Applecross. This turning will take you to Applecross via the pass of the cattle (Bealach nam Ba) the highest classified road in Britain. If you wish to avoid the pass there is an alternative route - carry straight on at the left turn and in 12 miles you will come to another turning to Applecross which will take you round the coast road.

If you are travelling from Sheildaig, follow the winding road for 40 minutes until you reach the Applecross Inn.

The cottage is about 3.5 miles south of Applecross village, on the right side of the road, just half a mile before Toscaig Pier. Once you reach the red telephone kiosk (not many of them left nowadays), follow the footpath for 30 metres (not suitable for wheelchairs) and you are there.

The postal address is, ‘Tigh-A-Chreagan’, Toscaig, Applecross, By Strathcarron, IV54 8LY.
